There I was, primping these golden red tresses, anticipating the conductor's baton to give us a downbeat (yes, I am a musician.) A gentle tap on the shoulder and there he was, bass trombone in hand and looking quite the part of a dark and mysterious composer who was destined to be mine. "Where do I pick you up?" he casually inquired, his voice melting into smooth as silk chocolate tones from his typical hard edged timbre. "For what?" I flirtatiously retorted as if I had no idea that he had called me the previous evening for a date. "For the date you agreed to go on with me." Obviously not taking the bait and of course, stopping the playful banter dead in its tracks. "Pick me up at my place," I choke out. "Where do you live?" he asks as he stalwartly pursues his quest for my address. "I don't seem to have any paper, to write it down with," I say as I scramble through my music folder. "I have my hand," he chuckles as I give him my address and wittily say "I'm glad you are into saving trees." One little chuckle and he's back to his seat ready for the conductor to begin rehearsal. Sigh....so mysterious.
And here we are a few years down the road and Mr. Sours hasn't changed one bit, except that now he has a Mrs. to go with his Mr. What a pair we make. He's always poking and prodding me and trying desperately to spoil my sweetness (as he claims it gives him a toothache) and I'm always teasing and loving him and bringing his glum little spirits up. He's Mr. Sours and I'm his little cupcake goddess. I'll be in for it later when he sees I've posted these very naughty photos and even more trouble when he reads what's been written. His petty crimes had to be flung out in the open someday and who better to do it than myself. Who better indeed.

Ode to Mr. Sours
You poke and you prod
all the day through
thinking that maybe
one day I'll be untrue.
Little do you know
you are in this forever,
I'll be sweet and you'll be sour
forever and ever.

all the day through
thinking that maybe

Little do you know

I'll be sweet and you'll be sour

Mr. Sours may be a little nicer than Derwood, but not much. Maybe you could write a very romantic ode to the 425. Memories of new beginnings get better with time don't they?

Ha ha ha! Actually Shawn and I never dated when we were living there. We started dating at the Nu Habitat. Nu beginnings indeed. Apartment LifeLife at the Nu Habitatwas anything but dull. The air conditioning and heater had very loud lulls. But love found us therethough run from it we tried,And the more I think of it nowthe more I should have cried. For, you see, life there was perfect and simple, raising my cheeksin smile full of dimples.Life now is hecticand complex and crazy,Oh I long for those dayslaying around my apartment all lazy. That is the very best I can do! Ha! Sweet memories.
